The Inn organises three residential weekends each year. These are held at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park, Highgate House near Northampton and West Dean College near Chichester. Only those currently undertaking the BPTC are eligible and it is recommended that you attend one of these weekends as they are a good opportunity to meet Benchers and barristers of the Inn in an informal setting. However, the weekends are heavily oversubscribed so selection is by ballot.
Each weekend includes talks on different areas of law and advocacy, question and answer sessions with practising barristers, judges and pupils and criminal and civil advocacy sessions. These weekends are hard work and you are required to prepare for them and participate fully but they are also very useful and a lot of fun.
Attendance and full participation at a residential weekend will lead to the accreditation of three qualifying sessions.
The weekends for 2017-18 will be held on:
27-29 October 2017 at Cumberland Lodge - the ballot is now open, please complete this form to enter the ballot before the deadline of 10am on the 9th October.
24-26 November 2017 at Highgate House - the ballot will open on Tuesday 10 October.
26-28 January 2018 at West Dean - the ballot will open on Wednesday 1 November.
