Lincoln’s Inn Scholarships are all awarded on merit. The value of each award is calculated through a means test based on the applicants’ disclosed financial resources and obligations.
BPTC Awards 2018/19
Total amount available to be allocated: up to £1,275,000

The Mansfield is our most prestigious scholarship and the Inn offers up to 5 of these awards, each carrying a minimum value of £20,000.
The Denning is our next most prestigious scholarship and the Inn offers up to 70 of these awards each year. The Marchant and Tancred Scholarships are also offered at the same level as a Denning Scholarship.
Apart from the minimum value of the Mansfield Scholarship, the values of all our scholarships are calculated by a means test as mentioned above. The Tancred scholarships are awarded by the Inn but the money for these awards is provided by the Tancred Foundation.
GDL / CPE Awards Total amount available to be allocated: up to £150,000
The Inn offers up to 32 scholarships for non-law graduates of outstanding ability. The GDL scholarships are separated into three named awards, all means-tested as above. They are, in order of prestige:

Hardwicke Entrance Awards
In addition to the above scholarships the Inn also offers up to 100 Hardwicke Entrance Awards for BPTC & GDL students. Hardwicke Entrance Awards are awarded based on applicants’ financial means and cover the Admission and Call fees and 12 qualifying sessions. All those who are invited for interview for the GDL and BPTC scholarships are automatically considered for a Hardwicke Award.
Total amount available to be allocated: up to £60,000
The Inn offers up to 50 Pupillage Awards to assist Pupils during their Pupillage year. These awards are means tested and are only available for Lincoln’s Inn Pupils.
